Offered for sale is a hard-to-get piece from supremely talented Belgian bladesmith, Samuel Lurquin.
Sam has just a terrific eye for lines and flow - how many makers can render a perfectly funtional and serviceable hunting knife that looks like a Ferrari about to hit its top speed?
And it's not just the dramatic lines that set this piece apart from a sea of ho-hum hunters, it's attention to detail. The scalloped guard - more visible in the photo below - adds dimension and demonstrates skill in execution and finish:
Blade steel is W1 - I will confirm dimensions when I get home, but figure a blade length of 4 to 4 1/2". Handle is sculptped ironwood. Guard is stainless steel (which exact variety, I cannot say). Domed stainless steel pin.
Price is US$525, which includes:
1) The knife (never used or carried - as received from Sam at Blade 2012);
2) fancy Rowe sheath (pictured);
3) Trackable shipping within Canada or the US (international shipping is available to forum members, but at additional cost - and it is expensive);
4)Paypal fees (vastly preferred method of payment).
I'm happy to answer any questions you might have, but the first "I'll take it!" by e-mail or PM will secure this piece.
Thanks for reading.
