JESS HORN Model No. 9 subhilt fighting knife with sheath and display box: $3500
I have a Jess Horn that my mom gave my dad as a gift back in the late 60's / early 70's when Jess was just getting started near our hometown of Redding. The photos including the tape measure are from ten years ago, I've included some updated photos showing a couple of spots/blemishes on the blade. I am not sure what they were caused by as the knife has been in the box (opened, but in a sealed display case) since then -- I tried rubbing them off with a soft cloth but didn't do more than that for fear of ruining the beautiful finish on the blade. I know nothing about knives but periodically got to look at this one while growing up when dad would pull it out of his dresser drawer, unwrap it from the old sweatshirt it was rolled up in, and show it to me and my brother. As far as I know it was never used or sheathed; I'm not sure when he had the display box made, but it's quite nice.
This offer includes one of Jess's business cards, a price list and brochure for the knives he was making back then, and a certificate of authenticity that Jess sent me ten years ago when I first considered selling the knife. The scans of the price list and brochure have a grayish band along the edge, but that's strictly from the scanning device as they're in pristine shape with no discoloration. I am also including a copy of Sid Latham's book "Knives and Knifemakers", which features this model on page 49. The book cover is a bit tattered as seen in photos but is in good shape otherwise.
