1. Joe Calton 3 5/8″ closed Scagel style slipjoint in OD canvas micarta and 1969 VW bug spring
Linerless shadow pattern. Blade and spring are made from the torsion bar of a 1969 VW bug. Blade is hand etched "Calton" on one side and "69 VW Bug" on the other. Brass pins. Centered Blade. Pull is around a 5. Half stop. Pinchable. Very snappy, no play, flush in all 3. Ground super thin behind the edge. Action is just a tad mushy in the last couple millimeters of closing. Tip is ever so slightly proud of the butt but doesn't catch on anything, first sharpening should fix that. Carried, used, plenty of patina, never sharpened. Some light pitting spots to tang and inside of the spring as pictured. I no longer have the original paperwork from the maker.
Asking $75 shipped USPS Priority.
