Beautiful knife.

Why more custom slip joint makers don't use mammoth and Walrus ivory, or stag (in lieu of jigged bone), I'll never know. Tradition is part of it... but jigged bone is... well ... it ain't stag.
 
To underscore the above point, I was lucky enough to score these ridiculous scales from Charles Turnage and sent them to Joel for this specific knife......and you're right, it sure ain't jigged bone :)
