The JYD II is a big, bold, and very distinctive knife, Incredible style. High-performance materials. Super-smooth manual opening. And Kershaw patent-pending Composite Blade technology. A Composite Blade combines two steels in one blade and enables us to put each steel to work doing what it does best. In this case, we put high-performance Sandvik 14C28N stainless on the spine and most of the blade. With increased nitrogen in the formula, 14C28N provides both good corrosion resistance and high hardness. The cutting edge is high-carbon high-chromium D2 steel. It’s only slightly stain resistant but it provides the razor edge and the easy re-sharpening of high-carbon steel. In time, expect a patina to develop along the edge, which will help protect against corrosion.

This was my first TSF knife, the Beast. 3.0. It's a perfect EDC flipper. Carried in my pocket and cut some boxes but that's about it. Tsf beast, lightly used. This has the desirable m390 blade. Lockup is early, maybe only 20%.

The Beast folder from Three Sisters Forge is a custom level, hand-made knife that has been proven in the field over the last 17 years, but TSF hasn't taken a break to bask in their success. The Beast has undergone several refinements. Among the improvements made, the blade is now S35VN and cryo treated, triple tempered for a Rockwell value of 59-61. The Beast still uses Torx hardware so you can make adjustments as needed, but the frame is a little bit wider with a better grip; the edges are rounded and stonewashed, which makes the handle gentler on hands. A custom-made shouldered pivot helps stabilize the frame interspacing while a larger lock side washer allows for better centering and stabilization. The lock bar ends have been carbidized, resulting in frustration-free lock disengagement.
