Kappetijn Siswati Walnut Damascus Linerlock
Blade Material: 256 layer 4340 alloy steel and 1065 carbon knife steel damascus (57-59 HRC)
Handle Scales: Turkish Walnut
Bolsters: 256 layer 4340 alloy steel and 1065 carbon knife steel damascus
Blade Length: 3"
Fully Open Length: 7 1/8"
Closed Length: 4 1/8"
Price: SOLD
Fit and finish is top-notch with buttery smooth action that locks up solid with no blade play. Only flaw in the finish I can find is a small spot on the blade near the thumbstud where some polishing compound appears to have polished off the damascus etchings.
Of note, this knife has no detent to prevent the blade from meeting the back spacer, so one must be careful when closing the knife. Unfortunately, I learned this the hard way and had to remove a small flat spot on the edge. I believe I did so satisfactorily, and the blade is hair popping sharp.
Asides from that, it has never been used or carried. I treated the blade, bolsters, liners, and back spacer with a light coating of Tuf-Glide along with a couple drops to the pivot area upon receiving the knife. The wood scales were given a light coat of mineral oil. It has been stored in a humidity controlled safe. Ships with custom fitted leather belt carry pouch.
