I'm really hesitant to offer this one up for sale but it hasn't found my pocket in quite awhile so it is time to move it along.
This is a USER Ken Erickson custom slip joint in maroon/burgundy micarta and a spear point blade. The blade is stamped with a 3 which I believe is D2 based on an old post of Ken's in which he listed out which numbers correspond to which blade steels.
This is in great shape but has been carried, used and sharpened. This means there are handling marks/scuffs on the pivot and backspring. The pivot pins have started to show which is to be expected after a few years of carry. The blade has been sharpened but is still in really great shape. I can't find any noticeable marks or scratches from use but there are two small pepper spots which I did my best to zoom in on. They are very faint and could possibly be flitzed out with some elbow grease. See the last picture in the album- they are directly above the "S" and "N" from the Erickson on the tang.
Now that I have highlighted the issues which designates "user" status with this one, it is simply a beautiful knife and makes for a perfect carry in the pocket. 3.5" closed length and it just feels great in the hand. Good blade centering and great walk and talk, a really solid build, but what else would you expect from Ken? The covers have a really rich dark color and the reddish hues of the burgundy only really pop in direct sunlight which I tried to show in the second picture in the album.
