Up for sale is my brand new Backup Zero from Kikuo Matsuda. It has never been used or carried and I am the original owner. The Zero is by far one of the nicest tactical fixed blade knife I have ever owned. The balance, level of comfort in the hand, blade profile design, and sharpness are above reproach...It is an extraodinary tool masquerading as a work of art.
"The Backup Zero is a full size design aimed at everyday utility. The Backup is among Kikuo's most popular models. The blade is made from Kikuos personal favorite, OU-31 stain resistant tool steel, and features his hamaguri-ba (convex) grind at the tip with a hollow grind below the belly and a false edge along the top. The OU-31 semi-stainless tool steel blade will have exceptional edge holding. OU-31 is a Japanese PM (powdered metallurgical) steel with micro fine crystalline structure that embodies many of the best attributes needed for knives. The steel is hardened to 64 Hrc (very hard!) and has more than 3 times the toughness of D2.
The handle scales are made from OD green canvas Micarta he carved for traction and comfort while carrying or using. Expertly placed jimping on the spine provides extra traction for the thumb while Kikuos unique paracord lanyard setup ensures extra retention in hand."
