I'm primarily a hobbyist woodworker and thought I'd try my hand at knifemaking. A few years back I went whole-hog and bought the best grinder I could.
I ground about 10 knives on it and then got back to woodworking. I would occasionally use a 400 grit belt on the machine to sharpen knives and chisels, but this grinder saw VERY little use. It is in perfect condition aside from minor surface rust that a Scotchbrite takes care of.
Purchased in September of 2013, I paid well over $3,000 for what is included. I would also consider selling the bench I built and will throw in a large box of high-quality belts (3M, Trizact...) that I'm happy to throw in.
Everything works and it works perfectly. Honestly, this machine has seen VERY little use. I have just moved into a much smaller garage and need the space more than I need the machine. This would be a great investment if you have the room and want to make knives. All of you who own a KMG know this to be true.
