Just curious, of all the knives that have gone through yall's hands over the years, what one knife do you regret selling or trading?

Mine would definately have to be this Bill Reddiex hunter. I was strapped for cash a year or so ago and I got rid of it and have regretted it ever since. I had another one, but I was able to get it back.(Wink, Wink, Ray)

R.J. Martin Devastator, big mistake getting rid of that one.

Any of his knives, I've acquired since, I'm keeping.

I passed on a Kit Carson framelock....once...just once..

But I digress.

I sold a really nice Ironwood Fisk Gumbyaha that I wished I had back...

My list is too extensive to limit to only one knife. But, I have been having dreams about the Dan Peterson stag carry bowie that I sold a few years ago. I don't even remember who I sold it to, but I'd sure like it back!

I gotta go with Danbo on this one, can't do just one.
But,here's a few screw ups:
JL Williams Crux
Bailey Bradshaw - Self Lock folding Bowie,Laredo Stag slip
Bob Dozier stag 3" DKFH

I owned this little beauty very briefly, just long enough to regret passing it along. It got me one I liked better at the time... now it's hard to say.
:o
I hope Phil doesn't mind me using his beautiful photo.

Anthony Lombardo When you get a "mortgage" in custom knives its real easy to sell one from time to time..

I would have to agree with Anthony.

Since I began collecting I have sold several Fisk (Five or six I think) and two Connor. I still have several Fisk left and one more coming.....BUTTTTTTTTTT I sure wish I still had the ones I let go.

Hard to say. I sold a very fine Tommy Lee that was the first custom I ever bought, and I sold it for slightly below market prices, I think, but that was the right thing to do at the time. If I could buy it back for the same price now, I would probably. Same thing on a Mayo TnT which I sold at a nice profit because it "didn't fit my collection". I somewhat regret selling it, but it has helped me buying other knives so...

When I look back, there are clearer examples of knives I regret having bought than of I regret having sold.

I never ever sell any of my knives. So I regret not buying some knives, but I never regret selling/trading because I keep them all!:D

all mine mine mine mine...

I'm a hoarder too so have yet to sell any knives, but there was a nice Bill Burke camp knife I had to let go of as part of a trade. There have been probably 5 or so knives I've become disenchanted with and regret buying but at the time I was happy with them. My biggest disappointments have been some Foggs I missed out on. The closest being the last sword he had available with the red mounting that I missed by less than an hour. I still kick myself for not checking my e-mail before going to work!

no regrets about selling

there have been some knives i have bought on whim or impulse .... that i have regretted later as wewll

There were two, an Elishewitz/TAD Dauntless (the first run) and a Tighe My Tighe. (I had 3 My Tighes at one time and can't figure out why I got rid of them.) I saw them both for sale within the last two years though and bought both models again.... never to be sold.... again.:)
