Good afternoon Bladeforums friends. Thanks to the kindness of D David Richardson , who notified me when a few more Mules in PD#1 became available on the Spyderco website late last year, I was fortunate enough to be able to purchase this one before they went out of stock again shortly thereafter.

Since then, I have reshaped the thumb ramp for greater comfort, and the blade and kick for better aesthetic lines, have fashioned a very comfortable handle of lacewood, and reground the blade to a very slicey .008" behind the edge (except at the tip, which is a little thicker, about .015"). I thought I would end up carrying this as my own EDC, but ended up making myself a slightly larger wharncliffe for that job, and so this Mule needs a purpose other than sitting idle in a padded knife box.

Overall length: 7 3/4"
Cutting edge length: 3 1/2"
Weight: 3.2 oz

Steel: CTS PD#1 (Do you like Cruwear? This is Carpenter's version of the alloy)

Edge geometry: 15° per side, 20° microbevel

Handle: lacewood, brass pin/tube

Sheath: black Kydex with paracord loops for IBW carry

Box and papers included.
(be advised: box top opening flap is slightly ripped)

Asking SOLD

Price is via PayPal G&S (I will provide the email address in private messaging) and includes expedited shipping with full tracking and insurance.

I am always willing to entertain counter offers in private message or by email. I will not be insulted and the worst that can happen is I decline your offer.

First "I'll take it" gets priority. Upon payment, please also confirm your shipping address.

Thank you for looking!

is it finished (or coated) with epoxy? or was it a stabilized wood?... or is it just natural lacewood with linseed oil or tung oil?

Hey hey Todd! So glad to hear from you! Ah, the patinated 1095 big user wharny. You know, I miss her and I think of her from time to time. I hope you're treating her well!

This knife is kind of like the opposite. Non wharny, thin, small (in comparison), but will be tough for sure because of PD#1 steel. Thank you for the purchase!

Dirc, natural wood, with mineral oil.

Shes been treated really well! Sits in my drawer in the kitchen. Opens boxes bags and mail daily! Actually about to be sharpened on my wicked edge this week! Fantastic user and my go to on a daily basis!

I figured this new one would thrive in the kitchen for actual food prep!

No doubt, and I hope you might be willing to share patina pics down the road!

Thanks again for what I'm sure will be another amazing knife! I again really appreciate the quality you offer for very reasonable prices!
Payment made and should be good to go!

Thank you for the great kindness Todd. And you guys are keeping me working, and keeping that cat fed so he doesn't turn his voracious gaze upon my sleeping toes, so the least I can do is keep making nice things and offering them at a good price to keep you coming back. See what you are saving me from. As many of you know, that Spyderco is a BIG knife. But look how small it is next to him. And don't be fooled, he's all muscle. I have to keep buying him food. So thank you from the bottom of my terrified heart. ;)

I let my cat out at night for an hour or 2 - he seems to catch a mouse every time, and we find the headless remains...
I worry sometimes he's a zombie cat, ;)
... but they're smart and don't eat the torso cuz that's where the guts are : )
