Up for sale is an American Tomahawk Co. LaGana Tactical Tomahawk ("VTAC") with its original sheath, both in new old stock condition. This is the older version that was discontinued following the 2019 sale ofAmerican Tomahawk Company, not the Model 1 offered by the current owners of the company. It was purchased new in 2009 and has never been used, carried or sharpened.
The tomahawk measures approximately 13-¾ inches from the top of the head to the bottom of the handle and weighs about 1lb., 4 oz. The axe head is 1060 carbon steel with an advertised hardness of RC 52-54 and a black Tex-Coat finish. The blade edge is approximately 2-½ inches long, the sharpened area on the beard measures about 1-¼ inches long and the spike measures about 1-½ inches in length.
The black handle is made of modifed Nylon ST, with an oval cross-section and a diamond-plate style finish for grip. The handle is marked “American Tomahawk” below the skull logo (see photos). The sheath is advertised to be black jumpable nylon with a puncture- proof liner and ambidextrous carrying design, and compatible with belt, sling and other carry systems (LBE, LBV, MOLLE). The tomahawk and sheath together weigh approximately 1lb., 9 oz.
Asking price is $175, which includes shipping via USPS Ground Advantage anywhere in the continental US. Reasonable offers are welcome.
