Somehow I managed to mark this blade 1084. After heat treat I was only getting ~52 Rc. What the heck! Turns out it was AEBL!
Rather than toss it I thought what should I do? So now it’s a nifty little letter opener.
The color reminds me of lapis lazuli.
So if you are looking for a letter opener here you go (6-1/4” OAL).
