SOLD!

This is a Ken Largin custom with the Kelgin stamp. Beautiful knife, comfortable in the hand and well balanced. 9" blade, 14" OAL, unknown steel, excelent condition. Prior owner bought it direct from the maker and stored it in a climate controlled safe for 30 years. Unused. I tested the edge on a roll of paper towels and it is sharp. Very heavy duty knife yet nimble in the hand. No sheath, came with a vintage Bagmaster padded case.

Ken was a very well known maker who had many knives featured on the cover of Blade magazine... he retired from knifemaking years ago and I've never seen another of his knives like this. Similar to an 1800s Searles Bowie but with a later coffin shaped handle.

Paid $300 for this last month, which seems like a very fair price... but listing this at only $225 shipped via USPS Priority Mail with insurance and tracking, CONUS ONLY.

I can accept Zelle, Cash App, or PayPal F&F... please do not say anything about knives in the subject line or your payment will not be accepted, too many people are having their accounts frozen over that.

Will try posting pics from original sale post, and will upload additional pics when I have time.

First "I'll take it" in this thread or via PM by an established member gets priority. I reserve the right not to sell to anyone for any reason. Payment expected within 24 hours and I can ship Monday.

I suck at math, but this is like a 35% price drop under what I paid for a knife which arguably is worth considerably more. Priced for QUICK SALE... surprised no-one has jumped on this deal. Might end up keeping this one too. Price certainly ain't droppin any further! lol

I rightly do not know how to test for that, steel type is not stamped on the tang as with commercial blades, but Ken usually worked with either ATS-34 or 440C, both of which are stainless. He did his own heat treating and the grind looks great.

Nice snag... I was half considering withdrawing this and having my guy put a screaming sharp edge on it... with a deep grind like this, it'll easily take a razor edge.

Take a close look at the pics. One of the wood scales has a tiny hairline crack at one of the pins which in no way compromises the integrity of the wood, barely noticable except under a strong light, can't even feel it with my thumbnail, just wanted to point that out. Also, it just came with the padded case, so sheath, but any large sheath of the correct width and length will fit it until you get a proper one made... plenty of good deals on eBay for sheaths.

Marking this SPF.

Hasn't shown up on my end yet, sir. No emails from you either.

Please doublecheck that transaction. Thanks.
