Realistically, perhaps....all the scope one needs; no need to spend $2-3K
- Leupold Mark 4 LR/T, Model 60065 riflescope
- 8.5-25x variable magnification power ; 50mm objective lens
- SFP (Second Focal Plane) - many, despite the craze for FFP (First focal plane), still, and ever, feel that the SFP is preferred. - SFP means that the reticle size
remains a constant, throughout the magnification range. With FFP, some reticles become virtually unseeable, depending on the end of the illumination range.
- Illuminated reticle, with 11 brightness settings; awesome functionality to have available, for low/no-light work. Of course, the reticle is black, with illumination off....
- Top-quality, relatively-light, very durable, scopes....used by the U.S. Mil.
- 30mm tube
- Has an (added) carbon-fiber magnification adjustment ring throw lever, for quick action
- Has an (added) aluminum (not plastic) Tenebraex-type honeycomb 'killflash' threaded into the objective lens end, which essentially eliminates sun-flash that can
give away the user's position. - I am trying to find the Leupold flip-up lens cover, for that end; it needed the cover-to-hinge glued. Either way, they are available,
and inexpensive.
- Crisp, clear Leupold optics
- Very clean, nice condition; just a few most-minor scuffs. Looks, and functions, as-new.
- TMR (Tactical Milling Reticle), and excellent, non-cluttered reticle.
- M1 turrets; note that the reticle has 'mil' graduations, which the M1 turrets have MOA (minute of angle) grads; this was per military spec. [This means that, if one
wants to use the reticle to size/range a target, a single conversion calculation is needed. Alternatively, Leupold did tell me that they will do a M1-to-M5 swap, so
the units-of-measure are alike, if one wishes, at $225.] --- Of course, laser rangefinders are quite rea$onable, these days, so you'll likely use one of those...!
