A very clean copy of Levine's Guide to Knives - 4th Edition -- the definitive and now long out of print reference - 512 pages of knives with extensive historical info; including the most complete reference to the patterns of traditional knives and their history. This copy is in great shape, with just a bit of gentle use.

SOLD - Asking $95 -- PayPal only - fee included; shipping included - USPS Priority Mail - US only.

Is $95 right? Amazon has a newer edition for $30. Is there something special with your copy or what?

Yes, $95 is correct (in fact, fairly low priced). This is the last and "definitive" edition that Bernard Levine did -- all the later "editions" were hacked together without any input from him. The later editions eliminated most of the history and information that make this a primary reference and turned them into mostly trivial price guides (eliminating even Bernard's valuation techniques). Do a search for the 4th edition and you'll find some charging up to several hundred dollars for a copy.

Sorry, I was by no means trying to interfere with your sale I was just asking a question about the item up for sale. Thanks for letting me know about that particular edition, and again I meant no harm and was not trying to deter people from buying it. I myself have been buying a lot of books on knifemaking and knives in general. I was looking at the 5th edition before on amazon and spotted your post for the 4th edition which promted my earlier question.
