LionSteel has developed a reputation for cutting edge innovations in the knife industry. Including 3-D printed handles, TRE, a rapid exchange system that allows the user to switch between having a flipper or not, and their one-piece integral frame locks. Each has pushed the limits of modern technology. At the 2016 SHOT Show, they introduced the KUR, designed by Pensato Michele, aka Molletta, the same Italian designer who designed the TRE. You can see some of the same design elements in the new KUR.
LionSteel KUR Flipper Folder Camo has what LionSteel calls "Metamorphosis handles", an aluminum handle with a special coating. Normally the handle is black, but as soon as the temperature of the material reaches about 73°F it changes to a camouflage pattern. Simply holding the knife in your hand for a minute or so will cause the change.
They both have a 3-3/8" drop point blade of Sleipner stainless at 60-61 Rc. with a stonewash finish. A flipper allows for easy opening. A liner style lock and a tip up carry pocket clip complete the knife. Measures 4-3/4" closed and weighs 6.3 oz. Comes with carrying sheath. Made in Italy.
