Hi All-
We've been busy with new creations in the shop these days. Since returning from an inspiring safari in Africa, I've been working on a mid-size all-around hunting and go-to knife that can do just about everything... field dressing, skinning, caping...etc. This was the first of two prototypes on what we have named the "Impala" - which is a nod to the first animal my youngest son has ever taken, and which is a beautiful and elegant animal. Anyway, I decided to use carbon damascus steel made by the folks at Alabama Damascus for the prototypes, although most production models will be offered in CPM154 or 440C with damascus as an option.

This first prototype is a bit skinnier that what will be the production model (which will be on our site later this week), and the blade shape is a bit more dropped than the production model. It's a beautiful piece and certainly a one of a kind. I didn't even keep a template of this. I just free-handed it with a marker on the steel piece and went to town on it. The bolsters are 416 stainless and it features a really nice piece of stabilized Giraffe bone as a handle, held in place with mosaic pins and a thong hole. I hand-filed a rope pattern into the top of the blade as you can see. This knife will have the logo engraved in the next couple days, and if you buy today, I can engrave your initials or name at no additional cost. This is done on the right hand side of the blade. The left side has our logo...etc.

It's a nimble piece weighing in at 5.6 ounces, and measures about 7-1/2 inches overall with a 3-3/8" blade (tip to bolster). I am asking $SOLD which is approximately what the finished product's dealer cost is in CPM154. So it's a deal :-) AND, like all of our knives, it comes in some pretty wicked packaging (ask others who have bought our knives) that includes a made in the USA walnut logo box, a nice storage box, basic leather sheath, certificate of authenticity, a cool window sticker for your vehicle, and last but not least, bandaids in a logo'd bandaid dispenser (just because you know someone will try and see how sharp it is using their fingers... so please don't do that!).

Thanks so much for your interest in this knife and thanks to all of you who are customers - without you we would not exist!!!
Sincerely,

Thanks! The second one is similar, not as much drop and no filework. Same Damascus and bolster. The handle is mammoth ivory, so the price point is higher. It was a rather expensive piece of ivory!
Folks are divided about 50/50 on which they like more.
