Blade: CPM-154 stainless steel with a triple temper and a cryogenic heat treatment
Handle: Jigged black paper Micarta
Sheath: Padded pouch
Style: Slipjoint
The blade is made from CPM-154 stainless steel providing excellent edge retention in an easy to care for steel. The blade was differentially heat treated, bringing the edge to critical temperature then quenched with oil. This technique creates some of the sharpest and most long lasting edges found anywhere. Many thermal cycles and normalizing steps ensure consistent grain structure and exceptional durability. A cryogenic treatment between tempers further enhances the edge holding ability. The blade is satin finished in the grinds and features a hand rubbed satin finish in the flats. The blade can be easily opened using the nail nick on the left side of the blade. A hollow grind provides an easy to maintain edge. The blade has excellent action with a firm half-stop.
Handle scales are formed from black paper Micarta that has been jigged to provide an exceptional grip. Aaron's "flaming W" logo is made from red paper Micarta that has been imprinted on the show side. Anodized bolsters.
