Kool 'Sniper' tactical knife by maker Mercworx.... {Actually hand-made by custom maker Mike Irie, from what I understand...}
- Blade is 7 5/8” overall, from handle slabs ; 7” sharpened portion ; 12 3/4” OAL —
1 5/6’ wide at the belly ; 2” at the choil/grind start
- Magnificent Brend-like {noted custom maker Walter Brend} curvaceous hollow grinds, and paper-shavin’ sharp;
puncture, and rip...coming-and-going
- Tough, yet stainless, CPM S30V steel - stout 1/4” stock thickness
- Polished brown micarta handle slabs - the ‘Chili Pepper’ handle is designed/configured
to provide resting points for each finger, yielding a stable grip. Color tone is not as dark as most of the photos
indicate; a couple do show the true color...
- If this were a woman….she would be aesthetically most-pleasing, strong yet elegant….
and, ready to perform the most-serious task, without question or hesitation ; she would
be all business, yet aim-to-please
- Crisp-cut serrations on the thumb rest, that work…such as is not done on altogether-too-many
knives
- Few most-minor scuffs/'Kydex scratches', from the sheath, which is typical; but, unused...
- 'Jump Sheath' has a kydex insert, in a cordura outer, like those Corbett Sigman used to make for Walter Brend...
While this can do most things one may wish for a blade to do….it is intended, primarily, for
that most-critical use……….. {Yes… cuttin’ up your chocolate bar… }
"MERCWORX SNIPER - This is the combat knife in excelsus; the warriors perfect battle blade. Combining the durability and combat efficacy of the
Equatorian model with flawless lines and superb, rapier like balance, the Sniper melds strength with dynamic handling characteristics into a seamless,
go anywhere, do anything package that will set the high-watermark of combat knives for years to come."
Photos, from various attempts in varying lighting conditions....
