Didn't get tracking or any response after payment was sent...

I will take it
Apologies but it sold

Hey guys I got scammed on this... what should I do?
My understanding of the above is that jldavid jldavid did not sell this item to C chipper1 .

chipper1 has posted his email address elsewhere in the exchange. So, if contact was via email, it is likely a 3rd party scammer who emailed chipper1 and jldavid had nothing to do with it. If contact was made via PM, then that's another story.

chipper1: how were you contacted?

That's part of the scam I have the email and paypal to prove it was me that paid for it
You paid somebody. The question is, who did you pay? How did you confirm that it was the seller who emailed you?

Once you post your email in public, anyone can use it. BF has been plagued with outside scammers who copy down people's email address when it is posted in a thread, then wait for that member to make another purchase. Then they email the person and pretend to be the seller. We checked and you have previously posted your email.

I'm trying to post a pic the screenshot to show you that the email is the name of the op the posted the for sale it might not actually be him but the email and the name is the same just can't trust anyone or anything anymore

Anyone can make an Email address with any name they choose. Scammers are crafty.

The guys I've dealt with on this forum have been some of the most trust worthy people I've experienced on any forum. The Email asking for payment is a well known Scam here. Sucks to see anyone get hit especially someone that's been here since 2012. Chalk it up to an expensive learning experience.

The scammers are hitting all the forums and sales venues. Our best recommendation for avoiding getting scammed is to be suspicious of any email contacts, as it says in the "best practices" sticky at the top of every page in the exchange.

If it were up to the mods, a $10 basic paid membership would be a requirement for buying and all payment transactions would occur via PM with no email transactions allowed. But the owner does not want to require a paid membership, so the most we can do is to recommend that buyers responding to an email purporting to be from the seller require that the email sender prove that they actually are the seller and have the item being sold in their possession.
