Hello Everyone, I have one of my mini Ronin knives available today, made from 8670 high carbon steel with niove wood handles on red g10 liners. This small edc has a 2.75” chisel ground blade with a 3.25” handle. This fits great in a pocket or on a belt and the chisel grind makes for a super sharp Edc. Available for $80, payment can be sent to Edgeknifeworks@gmail.com on PayPal G&S. Price includes shipping and a lifetime warranty. Thank you for looking.

I was wondering the same thing, I think only the bevel side gets ground and maybe the flat just de-burred?
I'm a rookie but learning!

Do you find a chisel grind easy to maintain?
Yes I do, the blade is sharpened on both sides but the angle on the back side is less critical as it’s mainly to help deburr and keep the cut balanced. You can really adjust how it cuts by how much or little you sharpen the back side. My personal Edc is chisel ground and I find the flat back to be very useful for controlled cuts.

That is correct, I sharpen the back side at a lower angle to deburr and you can adjust how the knife cuts but sharpening more or less on the back side. But it can be really nice if you need to touch up in the field and only have to sharpen the main side then strop the back side to deburr.

Thanks, very interesting. I like the in the field touch you mentioned, maybe a little bit easier to maintain.

cbach8tw cbach8tw did you buy it? I am a Joshua Fisher fan having bought four knives from him here on forum and also had him do a custom camp knife for me and it’s one of my best blades, and that’s saying a lot. I am also in his queue for a kitchen knife for my now independent son. Joshua is gonna put Purple Heart wood scales on this one. Should be really nice. Josh is a good guy who makes really great stuff. Go for it.

I’m in the market for a camp knife. Can you post a pic of it?? I’m trying to get an idea of exactly what I want.

That one was a 6.5” blade length. I’ve made camp knives anywhere from 6-9” blades just depending on preference and intended use.
Would a 6” be more of an all around user while a 9” more of a chopper? Or is it mostly just preference? I saw a beautiful 8” camp knife on the forum the other day. I’m glad it sold so quick :)

I think it’s more of a preference and weight, if I had a axe with me a 6” camp knife will do all the lighter work and be lighter to carry but if I didn’t have an axe the longer camp knife either 8” or 9” would be a better chopper and do better at heavier work and splitting small logs. I’m actually working on a 9” khukuri design now for my wife and I for backpacking.

A light camp knife like the one Josh made for me in kydex dangler belt sheath you won’t even notice it, large chopper such as your khukuri over the shoulder Baldric sheath carry, small axe/hatchet/hawk in pack. Include or remove chopper or axe depending on what you are planning for the day(s) out, or take all three. Works for me. Josh is a nice guy and I’m sure he hardly ever cuts anyone but this camp knife is light/fast/sharp/pointy making for a nice defensive option should it come to that. And if you want it thicker, or heavier, or longer, I’m sure he can do anything for you

No, I did not get it. I have three of his now. One in parachord wrap in 1080, one in burnt orange micarta and 8670, (specifically to try that steel and a longer handle), and a little one I got as a present in a Christmas exchange.
