The overall length is 8", the blade is 3 7/8" from tip to scales x 1 1/4" high and is flat ground from an antique misery whip saw blade. I differentially heat treated the blade with the edge at Rc 61-62. The scales are well matched beautiful Sambar stag, with black liners and 3/16" mosaic pins. Hair splitting sharp! SOLD shipped in the US. Paypal or money order. Thanks for looking. Alan.

I love this pattern. I swear if I ever get square on everything else I'm going to pick one of these up. This one is just my style.

I love a no nonsense knife design and this is a nice example of one that is very pretty with a nice sheath. Well done!

Forgive my ignorance but what are the advantages and disadvantages of using steel from a whip saw blade except for the looks of course because that is a beautiful knife.

The advantage is mainly the beauty, but it is also a very good steel that holds an edge well and is still easy to sharpen, most likely L-6 or 8670 which is basically 1080 + 1 to 2% nickel. Also when it is differentially heat treated, it is fairly flexibile. The main disadvantage is it will rust if not properly cared for.

Hope this helps,
Alan
