For sale is this very sweet MBK Extra Large Carry (XLC), a titanium integral handle knife with a slice-crazy blade designed by the minimalist master, Ray Laconico. I bought this for $300 from MBK's website last week, and pretty much just cut a few sheets of paper (sharp!), disassembled and cleaned/re-oiled pivot bearings with KPL (it had a little factory gunk), and fidgeted with it a bit (very nice action!). The knife appears flawless to my eyes, and the only minor quibble I'd have is that the blade is just a bit off center.
Yeah, I'm quite impressed with this knife, so why I am I offering it for sale? (read on, if you'd like, or skip the next paragraph).
Since I pared down my mini-collection/rotation to a selected few gem o' the gems back in April/May, I decided the come had time to add one more really nice knife. I was going back & forth between this XLC or whether to do a custom design on a Benchmade Mini Crooked River. Since the XLC came back in stock at MBK, I jumped on it, but went ahead and did my custom design of the Mini Crooked River on Benchmade's website (man, this feature is so cool! - see link below with pics my final customization). Well, my Benchmade is going to be delivered in a few days, and as much as I'd like to keep this excellent XLC, I'm going to stay with my original plan, so I'm letting this one go to a new home.
