Greetings! Please see below my first attempt at an Americanized tanto style knife. This offering is from 5/32" thick 1084 stock, heat treated, quenched, and tempered at 400°. The main bevel is zero ground convex with a 20° microbevel, and the tip bevel is a more robustly ground convex with a 15° edge.

I designed this tanto to maximize the amount of blade for the overall size of the package without compromising good handling or carriability. The blade is sharp and tough. The handle is comfortable and secure. The sheath is tight without play, but easy to deploy.

Overall length: 9 1/2"
Blade length: 5"
Main cutting edge length: 4"

Main bevel .012" behind the edge
Tip bevel .024" behind the edge

Black canvas micarta handle with red kydex liners and 13/64" mosaic pins

Snap fitting black kydex sheath.

Asking SOLD

Price is via PayPal G&S (I will provide the email address in private messaging) and includes expedited shipping with full tracking and insurance.

First "I'll take it" followed by prompt communication gets priority.

Thank you for looking!

Hey Crew Chief thanks for your purchase!! Shoot me an email and I'll let you know my PayPal email address.

Actually, I sent you a PM... I just guess I started getting used to that not working

I have a four letter word for you: AEB-L. Stay tuned.

You sure have me interested, Abe-l, are you really going to make one out of this steel, if so you had better make at least two!;)

I have two tanto blanks in AEB-L on the way back from heat treat, along with other blades of different styles, including a regular chef's knife, utility knives, a kukri, a seax, and three EDChefs. A dozen blades in total. The tantos are slightly different in design than the one above, however, with taller, stouter blades, and a bit more aggressive handle to blade angle. Also, one has a slight thumb ramp, and the other does not.
