I've forged this one from 1095 and shaped it to fit in this nice and old piece of deer antler.
My idea was to make old looking Nessmuk knife.
Flats are wet forged to remove forging scale and wire brushed.
Blade is differential heat treated with clay, hand polished with 2000 grit and etched to reveal nice hamon.
Antler is treated with Potassium permanganate to make it look older. Soft pieces of antler are sealed with epoxy resin.
As i was making it to look old, i didn't use any liners.

Details:

Overall length - 10"
Blade length - 5,5"
Blade width - 1,8"
Thickness at the back of the spine - 9/64"
Tang is not tapered.

Handmade 5/32" thick vegetable leather sheath, light brown color, made for vertical right carry.

Knife itself weights 8,8 oz, and with sheath is 14,6 oz

I tried to catch hamon with my camera but i can't do it right. It looks way better live.
