I tried sending you a message earlier following my first comment, but I’m not sure if it’s in the right place or not. I believe it’s on your profile page or something. I’m new to BladeForums, so not familiar with it yet. I’ve got PayPal FF ready for you whenever you can get me your info.

Thank you for reaching out. You are next in the line, I will let you know if it is still available later today.

Next in line? I was the first to claim it wasn’t I?
You may be next in line because you are not a paying member. Paid memberships usually gets first dibs and some won't even sell to non members. Since you can't send private messages someone who can may have been before you without you knowing

Thanks for letting me know that, so I can just let this one go. If I had known beforehand, I’d have paid for the membership. In his instructions, he said “Please post "I'll take it" in this thread and follow up with a PM/Conversation or provide your contact information” Nothing in there about paid members can just send a PM. I was the first to say “I’ll take it”, and I followed up with a message posted to his profile. I’ve been searching for this specific knife for months, as the serial number is significant to me. But oh well, I guess the other person gets it then, because of “dibs”, lol. No point in me paying for a membership now I suppose. You guys have fun with it. Gotta figure out how to quit getting these BF notification emails, and I’ll just keep buying and selling with Facebook and Reddit where things are more upfront. Thanks again for passing the info along.

The basic membership is only like $10 for just purchasing and I would think weeds out scammers and is why it's like that. I'm sure other people might eventually sell the same or similar knife you are looking for so getting the basic membership is probably worth it.

This one particular Rosie has a serial number significant to me. I don’t care about the cost of the membership. It could be $10 per year, or $100 per month, I’d have paid for it if I knew it was a requirement. There’s nothing about it in the sales post, nor anywhere else for people unfamiliar with BladeForums. The issue is, I didn’t know it existed and that it equated to “dibs”, until the seller had already moved on to the next person. He didn’t even bother mentioning it to me, you did. Another member of this forum that is a paid member alerted me to this sales post early this morning, and even he didn’t know about this “dibs” nonsense. I’m just more used to systems where people that have knives want money and they sell to people with money that want knives, without some imaginary “dibs” coming into play.

And to whoever the buyer was, reach out to me. I’ve got a much nicer version of the radial frag worth hundreds more on the secondary. If all you’re looking for is a Rosie, we can work out a swap of some sort, or I can likely find you whatever you’d like better than the one you just bought. Table on the one sold here was only $750, mine was well north of that.

I'm not saying that's how this seller is just that some might sell in that manner. I've seen some say they will only sell to gold members. He may have gotten a private message from someone else first n that's how he got first dibs on the knife.

Good luck on getting the knife. Hopefully the potential buyer works something out with you.

If he got a private message from someone that didn’t post “I’ll take it” on the sales thread prior to sending it, as per his instructions, then that’s a lousy way to sell knives in a public forum. Especially if that person gets priority over the folks that did do as he asked. I traded through more than $20k in knives last year. When folks tried to skirt the rules by private messaging me, I made them go back and post publicly before agreeing to the transaction. Either way, no point in being bothered by it anymore. What’s done is done. First world problems, right?
