12-1/2" overall chopper made from massive .354" thick 5160 with OD green G10 scales and black G10 spacers. This thing packs a monster punch and ought to knock a chunk off just about anything. If Dirty Harry carried a knife...

The edge is convexed and there is approx. 3/16" of exposed tang at the pommel. Tang is tapered to approx .180" and the last 3/16" is exposed. The flats and bevels are etched and then rubbed with Scoth Brite after heat treating to leave a "Quench-o-flage" textured surface. This can be cleaned/maintained with a scrubby kitchen sponge and is very durable. The edges of the tang have a satin finish that extends to the rounded part of the spine a little forward of the grip.

I wasn't sure I was going to like this but I have to admit that there is some kind of primal satisfaction in holding and swinging such a big chunk of sharpened steel, that makes one want to start cleaving nearby objects just for fun. I'm surprised to find myself wanting to make more. Maybe Dirty Harry will buy one;)

What a steal! That's beautiful!

Thanks Ben! The as-quenched finish saves the customer a bunch of $ and I think it works very well all the way around for this kind of piece and it's intended use.

Nice grab capid1, what a steal.
Justin, that is a seriously nice blade. The OD green w/ black spacers make for a nice combo.
Hope to see more.

I'll take it Justin! Sending you an e-mail now.

You got it, Thank you!
I forgot to mention in the ad but I am including a little test bar/blade that I used to judge the HT. It was cut off the same bar of steel, run through HT with this blade, ground to a blade shape on one end and then tested, including being dropped tip first on concrete and hammered through a 16 penny nail. The other end is notched and broken and shows the grain size. The blade section survived quite a bit of flexing in my vise, I decided not to break the little bugger.
