12-1/2" overall chopper made from massive .354" thick 5160 with OD green G10 scales and black G10 spacers. This thing packs a monster punch and ought to knock a chunk off just about anything. If Dirty Harry carried a knife...
The edge is convexed and there is approx. 3/16" of exposed tang at the pommel. Tang is tapered to approx .180" and the last 3/16" is exposed. The flats and bevels are etched and then rubbed with Scoth Brite after heat treating to leave a "Quench-o-flage" textured surface. This can be cleaned/maintained with a scrubby kitchen sponge and is very durable. The edges of the tang have a satin finish that extends to the rounded part of the spine a little forward of the grip.
I wasn't sure I was going to like this but I have to admit that there is some kind of primal satisfaction in holding and swinging such a big chunk of sharpened steel, that makes one want to start cleaving nearby objects just for fun. I'm surprised to find myself wanting to make more. Maybe Dirty Harry will buy one
