I am selling a very rare PUMA knife, one of the four HUNTING SIDEARMS, the most sought after knifes by collectors worldwide. It is the model HIRSCHFANGER (deer terminator) 3599, developed under the supervision of the Oberforstmeister (Chief of Forestry), Walter Frevert, whose name is on the base of the blade. It is known as CUTLASS too, in US. On guard there is the code number 17381. The knife, for his 47 years, he is in good condition. Rare green logo on sleeve.
Logically, the knife has its age, so please refer to the pictures. The last I saw were sold in Germany at prices from 800 to 1000 euro.
I have to underline that the production of this knife started in 1955 to end around 1993. It was made of the special carbon steel alloy named PUMASTER, patented by PUMA, Solingen.
It was higly considerated because of its strenght and durability, out of the long lasting razor sharpness.
The knifes were individually hand made, from the billet to the final finish, with the fine workmanship that made Solingen and PUMA famous in the world.
My knife, according to the serial number, has been made in 1969, in the middle years of production. It is mildly used, so I will not ask the crazy price to buy one Out Of the Box piece, but I will respect it, asking the fair price it deserves.
It has a dagger design, 38 cm. long, 25cm. only blade, stag horn handle with nickel silver handguard, with its original leather scabbard in good conditions, not much sharpened, but with some signs of use on the point.
