I’m selling my very rare Tamboti Nyala to fund a new motorcycle. I’m sure ill regret this, as I have never seen another one even posted for sale.
For those who don’t know, this was a special edition Nyala made around 10 years ago for Orvis. It was limited to an incredibly low 25 pieces. Included in the sale is knife and sheath only.
Condition:
This one is in excellent condition. It has been carried and mostly used just for pictures
The edge appears original and is still very sharp. I personally have never sharpened it and it does not appear to have been sharpened or reprofiled in any way. No rolls or chips in the edge that I can see or feel, it’s excellent. The wood has a ton of character, and more color than I have seen on any of the less than handful of other Tamboti Nyalas I’ve seen. It has a couple of small marks on the blade as seen in the photo. They appear to be patina marks, maybe from sitting so much in the sheath and they seem like they would come off with a rag and flitz, but I don’t have any left and it doesn’t bother me. This knife is not new, so if thats what you’re after, you may want to pass. But, if you want an incredibly rare knife in excellent condition that you’ll likely never see offered for sale again, it may be for you.
