Hello again everyone! Trying to blast out the models I still have sitting around. This is a pretty old posting, but it's an absolutely beautiful knife with a great sheath.
If you're looking for a nice Scandi to do your outdoorsy bushcraft-type stuff, then look no further. This is my first ever scandi grind, and it turned out pretty damn nice!

The base dims of my Rambler model:
D2 at 61-62 HRC; 3.5" edge (3-7/8" tip to guard) x 0.95" tall x 0.15" at the spine, with a robust stick tang.
This version:
True zero-degree Scandi grind with 1200 grit satin finish, and a forced patina on upper flats.
Bolster section and pin are made from handmade Denim & Burlap Micarta, with the main section a locally sourced mystery wood.
Wood is not stabilized, but dried for several years prior to using here. Torched at around the 1200 grit mark, then sanded up to 2500 with multiple soaks in Tung oil during finishing process.
Profile is not contoured, but shaped like an inverted, fat teardrop that is about 0.95" at the shoulder and long enough for supersized hands.
Nearly 9" OAL, and weighs 5.2 oz.

Handmade Leather sheath with deep, wet-molded pocket. Right hand carry.

I hope you like it...

Bill,

hard to tell from the photos, but are there some finger grooves or one for the index finger?

Very nice piece of work.
Thank you J jeffbird
Yes, there is an index finger groove...t is not tremendously deep, but there is protection from sliding. Not a stabbing kind of knife, so that shouldn't be an issue.
The back part is kind of a swooping contour

You’re welcome.

Yes, a finger guard or at least a modest groove is a helpful with cold hands or when cleaning critters.

Beautiful work Bill.

Congratulations to the new owner.

Agreed...I don't think I could design a blade without one, although I know some don't have anything.
This one, with the scandi grind is set up more for light bushcraft or carving, rather than animal processing, but it would probably still work for that...

Thank you!
