Hey guys,

So today I’m putting up my MK16 up for sale, it's a collaboration knife from Robert Carter & Nick Chuprin (of NCC knives). It’s an awesome knife, but unfortunately I could use the funds at the moment, so need to let it go… The knife was part of a small batch of collaboration pieces they made together, prior to working on, the now legendary BBM Collab knives. Only six of these were made, this particular knife is marked as number 1.

    • one long bar inlay above the lock-bar on the other side
  • Marble carbon fibre pivot collars

Specs:
  • Blade length: 3.75”/95mm
  • Handle thickness: 0.482”
  • Blade stock thickness: 0.168”

General:
  • The action is absolutely brilliant!
    • Fires out quickly and with authority
    • Really nice and smooth on the close
    • great acoustics as well
  • Nice solid lock-up
  • flipper tab isn’t gimped, but it really doesn’t need it, because of the way it’s been shaped and the perfect detent tuning.
    • As a result, it doesn’t tear up your finger from repeated flipping
    • I can’t get it to fail unless I’m actively trying to do so
  • Nice solid gimping on the back of the blade. Not too rough that it’s uncomfortable but definitely grippy enough.
  • Overall it’s got great ergos
    • Feels good in the hand in every grip I’ve tried
    • the choil is too small to fit a finger, but the on the back of the blade allows for better fine control and is comfortable to use without needing to move your index finger forward (more of just a sharpening choil)
  • The inside of the backspacer is engraved with both Robert Carter’s (RJC) & Nick Chuprin’s (NCC) initials, as well as the number 1

Condition:
  • The knife is in good condition overall
  • It has the original edge, as far as I can tell (S110V really holds an edge like nothing else haha)
  • It looks like it was used/carried a little bit by the previous owner
  • It does have a couple of small marks on it, however the user stonewashed finishes, make them quite difficult to see unless you’re actively looking for them (Please see gallery for more detail)
  • The copper inlays have a nice patina on them (if you prefer them shinier though, a little copper cleaner/polish would brighten them right back up)
  • Mechanically everything is on point
    • Great action
    • No lock-stick
    • No blade play
    • The blade is centered
