ROCKSTEAD CHI # 189 - YXR -7 steel with DLC just returned from Rockstead for a factory sharpening - lightly used before - unused since.

Very, very lightly used. Just back from Rockstead for warranty work and a tuned up edge.

Greatly reduced price for this barely used knife reflects that is has been registered by me - the original owner - and has been factory resharpened, resulting in some faint blemishes in the DLC. This will make a great USER for someone who wants a spectacular, precision made knife with high quality steel, perfect ergos and a better than most, newly sharpened edge.
I bought this one in February 2017. After a 3 months of occasional carry (mostly as a dress knife, so it saw very little real cutting) it started to partially open in my pocket. I stopped carrying it altogether and spent the summer months trying to find a solution short of sending it back to Rockstead but gave in finally and sent it back in September. They had it through November 18.
Selling this now as I bought a replacement during the long passage of time without my Chi.
Here it is returned working perfectly, and with a freshly sharpened edge.
Has been registered but will come with all its papers and registration info.
You can see in this photo - below - the newly sharpened edge and a very fine scratch in the finish near the tip (done by the Rockstead sharpener
. This does not appear to go through the finish as it still appears black in all light. Could probably be buffed out. I wish they had taken the time to do that. SCRATCHES are greatly exaggerated by the camera in bright light.
Must reveal that there are also very faint, and very small surface scratches on the other side too - much less visible and un-photographable, at least with my gear and skill.
Otherwise PRISTINE
Centering, lock up, detente and blade flip and close is perfect AS BRAND NEW!
