A blade forged from a pre 60's leaf spring that I have made several blades from and trust its quality I assume its 5160 and heat treated it as so. Full quench double tempered and a back draw. 9" blade with tapered tang and TREX handle material to keep up with the recycled vibe. Brass hardware and a multi-carry sheath rigged for shoulder carry and bushcraft slap style. finished in 320 grit finish, a great use and abuse knife. Sold-plus shipping this should be a $500 set up, trying to move it fast

Love the blade man. it reminds me of a machete given to me by my landlord when i lived in the Caribbean. The island of Dominicas (Dominica, not Dominican Republic) main export is bananas, its like 70% of their GDP, so most of the men their carry machetes like we do EDC folders here. But my landlord was a construction worker (he built the 3 story house we were renting) and when i had some trouble with a couple locals he made me machete with a beachwood handle held together with bailing wire. I have no idea what the blade was made of but it was rusty as hell and super sharp. I wont sit here and say the blade was made of anything special but it was durable enough to cut down a pair of coconut trees about 10" in diameter and afterwards i could still bury it in a pressure treated 2X4 with minimal effort. I love that thing, its my favorite keepsake from my time down. but the rusty look of your blade reminds me of it. nice work dude

Thanks man, I typically only use new steel, but have a bit of this old rusty stuff that is a great performer and I enjoy that look, its not a great seller for some reason but I use it in between orders for fun, I currently have a 10 " hidden tang fighter in the works
