Hi Folks
Here is a new model for 2022... this is the first one I have been able to get into my webshop. The intention with the 'Selby' is a basic hunting knife - no fancy things like finger guards and bolsters, just a stout, honest, reliable tool for general field duty and larger game preparation. Let me know what you think.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Named after the famed African game hunter Harry Selby, this purpose designed knife has a broad blade, dropped point and a generous belly. A rounded handle ensures no hot-spots and can be used with ease in many different grips. Jimping on the spine and a tapered tang combine practicality with the aesthetic.
This 'Selby' has elegant African Blackwood handle scales with red vulcanized fibre liners, held together with a brass Corby bolt at the front and a useful lanyard tube at the rear. The N690 stainless steel is a great all-rounder and has become the standard for handmade knives in Europe - on this particular knife, it has a very unusual 'Giraffe' pattern in the mill scale on the ricasso.
After a hard day's work in the field, this knife will make light work of breaking down your quarry. Enough blade and robust enough for some of the largest thick-skinned game like Cape Buffalo as well as general duties around the campsite. This knife will serve you well in hunting trips for the rest your lifetime.
The 'Selby' can also be ordered with a Spanish/sharpening notch, without jimping on the spine and with a variety of handle materials. Please inquire for details.
Blade thickness: 4.2mm (0.17")
Blade depth 34mm (1.34")
Blade length: 105mm (4.1")
Overall length: 240mm (9.44")
Weight (without sheath): 186g (6.5oz)
Weight (with sheath): 258g (9oz)
Handle material: Oiled African Blackwood
Fittings: Brass Corby and lanyard tube
