Hi Folks
A Sgian Dubh 'Coruisk' fresh off the workbench...
The heirloom quality Sgian Dubh 'Coruisk', features a long, slim blade in Böhler M390 stainless steel - one of the best powder metallurgy knife steels you can get. It not only looks great, but also has fantastic performance and can be used in the field as a highly capable EDC or hunting knife. The blade also features polished filework on the spine.
The bolster is solid Nickel Silver, and not just a ferrule (metal band around the wood). Behind the bolster is a spacer in stabilized Maple Burl - stabilizing wood impregnates it with a specialist resin which is then cured, leaving the wood a lot stronger, harder and far less likely to crack or warp. A handle center in African Blackwood with a peened, domed and satin finished Nickel Silver main pin. The pommel is in stabilized Hornbeam and features a mosaic pin.
The sheath is 100% handmade in-house with saddle stitching and Celtic knot toolwork to match the color and feel of the knife.
This 'Coruisk' is a real special Sgian Dubh to compliment a kilt outfit and can be proudly passed down to future generations.
- Blade thickness: 3.5mm (0.14")
- Blade length: 98mm (4")
- Blade depth: 27mm (1.1")
- Overall length: 198mm (8")
- Weight: 100g (3.5oz)
- Weight no sheath: 128g (4.5oz)
- Handle material: Nickel Silver bolster, vulcanized fibre and Nickel Silver liners, stabilized Maple Burl spacer, African Blackwood handle centre and stabilized Hornbeam pommel.
- Traditional hidden tang design with filework on the spine. Comes with a custom fitted sheath with toolwork.
