Hi Folks
Here are the fist of a new design Sgian Dubh for 2024. I'm going with a full-tang on this one and offering it in either stainless or high-alloy with a stonewash finish. Bog oak handle with various colored liners. - these two are stainless with a green and a red liner.
Keeping with my Sgian Dubh association with Isle of Skye... this design is called the 'Kilbeg'.
A modern version of the traditional Scottish Sgian Dubh - the 'Kilbeg'. This curvaceous wee knife has been crafted with a full tang where the steel in the handle forms the profile. The blade is in N690 stainless steel with a satin finish. It has a Bog Oak (between 2000 and 5000 years old) handle with fibre liners and brass pins. The sheath is also 100% handmade in-house with saddle stitching and some toolwork.
This Sgian Dubh make use of high quality materials sourced from around the world and is hand crafted with a superb fit and finish. It is completely functional (sharp!) and built to last. If looked after, it will easily provide a lifetime of use and you'll be able to proudly pass it on for future generations to enjoy.
- Blade thickness: 3.5mm (0.145")
- Blade length: +/- 99mm (3.86")
- Overall length: +/- 205mm (7.9")
- Weight without sheath: +/- 150g (5.3oz)
- Weight with sheath: +/- 176g (6.2oz)
- Handle material: Bog Oak with vulcanized fibre liner
- Fittings: Brass pins
- Full tang design that comes with a custom fitted leather sheath as seen.

SOLD
