Hi Folks
A Sgian Dubh 'Scavaig' fresh off the workbench...

My take on a traditional Scottish Sgian Dubh - the 'Scavaig'. This rustic beauty has been crafted with a copper bolster that is solid (not a ferrule) and a stabilized Black Palm handle centre. The Pommel is stabilized Hornbeam with a fine mosaic pin. This traditional blade also features filework on the spine and a copper main pin in the handle. The sheath is also 100% handmade in-house with saddle stitching and toolwork.

- Handle material: Copper bolster, stabilized Black Palm with stabilized Hornbeam pommel.

Such a beautiful knife! I loved your other 2 of this design you posted, but this one is just over the top! Exceptional and such attention to detail as always!

Other than its intended carry design and purpose, is there any other real way (secure way) to carry? Put in your pocket, IWB?

I don’t think it will work very well with my low cut ankle socks with tennis shoes and wearing pants 😂

Thanks. Black Palm and copper is one of my favorite combinations.
Besides in your sock or pocket, the only other way would be to make a sheath with a belt loop/clip. I have made a few of those as custom orders for folks who use their Sgian Dubh as an EDC or hunting blade.
