Hi Folks
Here is the second of a pair of Sgian Dubhs I finished off last week...
My take on a traditional Scottish Sgian Dubh - the 'Scavaig'. This one has been crafted with a brass bolster that is solid (not a furrule), an oiled Leadwood handle centre - one of the dardest, densed woods around. The pommel is in Bog Oak that is between 2000 and 5000 years old. The handle pin is mosaic with an additional pin in the pommel and detailed filework on the spine. The sheath is also 100% handmade with saddle stitching and toolwork.
