Up for sale is a Spyderco Southard that has undergone a Kevin Smock Mini-Southard modification. I have too many carries to fully enjoy this one, so against my better judgment, off it goes.
I commissioned Kevin to make me this Mini-Southard. Here is what's been done:
- his signature mini modification on a stock Southard
- liner delete (full Ti scale on show side)
- timascus LBS and timascus backspacer
- polished stock barrel spacers (currently installed)
- drilled to accept the factory clip (installed) or STR lowrider clip (included)
- 2 tone blade with Kevin's mark
- Ti finished with Kevin's awesome blue anodized highlights
- upgraded bearing/washers (included but not installed)
Spyderco used too thin washers on the stock Southard and are prone to being pinched and deformed, and that's what happened on this one. Having both the blade centered when closed and smooth action is not possible as it currently sits, and that's why the photo shows the blade is slightly off centered. I purchased an aftermarket upgraded bearing/washer kit to resolve this problem and return the knife to a centered position with great blade deployment. I haven't made any time to do this tinkering, so I will leave it to the next owner.

The knife is completely usable as is, and can be made perfect with the parts provided. This is perfect for someone who enjoys tinkering and tuning, and the end result will be a fantastically unique EDC that would take years and far more $ to obtain directly from Kevin (if he is even still offering to do this mod).
Asking $sold all-in.
*No trades wanted*.
Payment is via Paypal G&S and price includes shipping USPS to US only. Coming from a non-smoking home if that matters.
