There is slight side-to-side blade wiggle, it is solid up-and-down. It's a secure lock up, but the play bothers some people. The lockbar is also very sticky and needs to be broken in. Your finger will hurt a lot for a few weeks from disengaging the lock. Spyderco will take care of any of these under warranty but I don't think these are real problems in my opinion.
