$OLD - Ill be receiving soon some aogami super and blue 2 steel from japan, feel free to contact me for custom orders.
Hey guys! Coming to show you a knife that took me one hell load of work to finish.
Please read everything carefully this one is special to me
While im not a huge fan of damascus, i think the stainless one serves the purpose better.
Being directly, i think that stainless damascus can have a lot more benefit from the etching than carbon damascus since you can create a deep contrast and unlike carbon steel, it wont rust easier and faster (due increasing surface area).
THAT BEING SAID, i decided to make this knife deeply etched with this amazing satin machine finish that creates an interesting 3D effect depending the angle you look at it.
This knife is SO special to me and not only because the blade, but also because the handle.
It is made out of african ebony perfectly paired with some mammoth fossil inlay. To be more specific, mammoth molar, stabilized in raw natural color, which in my opinion gives it a cool "bone" look.
The mammoth inlay is the best quality you can get, you can see all the 3 layers of the teeth highly figured (dentine, enamel and cementum).
As all my knives, they are tool before art, so despite being highly artistic, it is fully functional and you can expect amazing performance from it.
It has a smooth distal taper towards the spine but it was purposely not done to be a laser, trust me, you dont want to break a knife like this so obviously a knife to be used gently.
This knife is allergic to others than the owner, so please, do not let people use this lol.
The blade has a perfect balance set in the choil, so it is a really good combo right here: it has only 135 grams, perfect balance, smooth distal taper = absolute precision when using it, even for begginers in the kitchen knife world.
Well, let the pictures speaks by itself.
Steel supplied by Raffir(Denmark), 440c+n690 hardened to 60hrc which in my opinion is the sweetspot between toughness/hardness trade in this alloy. While some people dont like 440c for kitchen knives, you can expect amazing edge retention on this knife, as a maker really concerned about performance, i wouldnt be offering such knife if i didnt believe so. I LOVE n690 and 440c edge retention in really thin grinds, its the basic that works.
SOLD
Feel free to contact me for custom orders, got amazing materials available, including more of this mammoth molar
Have a nice day everyone, thanks for looking and hope you enjoy it!
