Good morning friends! Here are two tantos in tough 8670 carbon steel with stout construction, thin primary grinds, and natural wood handles. Combined shipping saves $25 if both are to be shipped to the same location.

Tanto 1 has an extra stout blade profile, right side chisel grind, and serrations on the primary grind. It has a smooth handle of natural bocote treated with mineral oil. The scales are radiused, and the handle profile has a medium pinky hook to aid in retention.

Specs
Steel: 1/8" 8670, 59-60 RC

Geometry: Right side flatvex chisel ground, serrated, ~.010" behind the edge

I always used to think so as well. Many serrations on the market involve very small scallops with a tight radius that can be hard to get a sharpening rod into while hitting the entire edge.

When learning how to make serrations, I realized that the best configuration, in my opinion, is serrations nearly a quarter inch, or more, between the tips, and ground thinner behind the edge than production knives, which typically come in at .020" behind the edge, or more. I grind my edges so that the serrations are at most .012" behind the edge.

Just like with a plain edge knife, a serrated knife will have better cutting ability and be easier to maintain when there is less steel behind the edge to wedge in the material you are trying to cut, and to remove during sharpening.

My own EDC belt knife is now a serrated Prevail I made in 15N20, and my at home folder for EDC is a plain edge Resilience in 8Cr13MoV that I reground and added serrations to.

Overall Length: 9"
Serrated Primary Cutting Edge Length: 3 5/8"
Tanto Tip Cutting Edge Length: 1 1/2"
Blade length: 4 1/2"

Weight: 6 oz., 7.4 oz. with sheath

Handle: Bocote

Sheath: Black Boltaron Taco Tuesday included, compatible with Tek-locks and most adjustable clips on the market.

Boltaron is a thermoplastic like Kydex, similar in price, but with a molding temperature about 30° higher than Kydex. This means that it is functionally identical to Kydex in all climates except that in high temperature climates it is a far superior choice, as it is much less likely to lose its shape if left in a hot car, for example. The only drawback to Boltaron over Kydex is it is available in fewer colors.

Price is expired, payable via itemized PayPal invoice, which I will send to your specified email address. Includes tracked and insured expedited North America shipping. I will ship internationally at buyer's expense and liability. First "I'll take it" with comms by PM or email (ie send me the email address you want the invoice sent to) gets priority.
