This is one I made for myself a few months ago, and carried a handful of times, though it never saw much use, as my smaller knives always get the love. So it ended up freeloading in the drawer, and despite my love for it, it's time for it to brighten someone else's day. A big blade with a full life left in it. And because it also has a few cosmetic scratches on the blade, and some minor clean up issues near the front of the scales, you are getting a bargain price on this completely functional, sharp and tough knife.
Very special grind on this one, and also radiused spine for comfort (one of my preferences), so you won't be striking ferro rods with it. Prying? Why not.
Specs
Steel: 5/32" AEB-L, RC 60-61
Geometry: Full flat-vex, ~17° per side primary edge, 20° microbevel, .025" behind the edge, increasing towards the tip. The tip profile is quite acute, but the cross sectional grind is such that spine retains full stock thickness to just 1/4" before the tip. Translation: this knife is stabby and beastly tough. Edge is extremely sharp, heel to tip.
Overall Length: 10 1/4"
Cutting Edge Length: 5 1/4"
Weight: 8.5 oz
Handle: Black canvas Micarta, contoured with pinky scallops, and hand textured for grip and to reduce weight, brass tube hardware, strong waterproof construction.
Sheath: Included, and to be made per buyer's choice of taco or pancake. Black Boltaron, and will be compatible with G-Clips, and large and small Tek Loks. Please specify if other clips need to be accommodated. Or if you want the original sheath let me know, and we'll knock off $10. Knife was originally a seax design, until I gave it a reprofile and regrind to this style which I wanted to try. Original sheath reflects the original profile, though retention is snappy and secure.
