Hi Folks
Here's something a bit different from me - it's a knife I made for myself. I've been working on it on and off, and it took me about 18 months to finish this summer. I've got far too many knives in my personal stash and want to buy some expensive tools in the new year (a milling machine
) - so this one is for sale. Introducing...
The 'Corbett'.
Inspired by and named after the legendary man-eating tiger hunter Jim Corbett. Long, slim and with flowing lines - if I was confronted by one of those man-eating beasties, and my rifle was no longer with me or useful, this would be the tool I would fall back on.
The hidden-tang design ensures a relatively light and nimble blade for its length and thickness. Made in reliable N690 stainless steel with a nickel silver guard and handle pin. The spacer is in Elforyn 'Super Tusk' synthetic ivory - look closely and you can see the natural looking grain. The handle is sculpted from stabilized Maple Burl. The stabilizing process impregnates the wood with an extremely durable resin - this makes the wood virtually warping or cracking, water resistant and a lot more hard-wearing than natural wood.
The luxurious sheath features an ivory colored bull-frog skin insert with a plush chamois leather liner.
- Blade thickness: 4.7mm (0.185")
- Blade length: 120mm (4.72")
- Overall length: 240mm (9.45")
- Handle material: Stabilized Maple Burl
- Fittings: Nickel Silver
- Hidden tang with Elforyn spacer, vulcanized fibre liners, nickel silver finger guard and pin. Comes with a custom fitted sheath with insert and lining as seen.
€ SOLD
