I have never been able to have a relationship with my large Classic Sebenza. I finally sold it, and have no remorse. I will concede that it is very well made, perhaps the best knife made in terms of quality of manufacture. But, it just never "floated my boat." I always reached for my M2 AFCK, or my 710 in M2. In short, I just could never find the personality in the Sebenza.

You've made some lucky Sebenzanista very happy! :D

And I guess that's why there are so many different knives out there. I'm carrying an old under-utilized 710 around myself lately. I am testing a new automatic-opener sheath for it from Eric at On/Scene Tactical. (So far, REALLY neat!)

You're going to burn in Hell. :D

Don't be surprised if you don't get another some day. :) Even if you don't get another Sebenza, some other high end framelock like a John W. Smith, Mike Obenauf, or Darrel Ralph may be in your future.

different strokes for different folks. plain jane sebenzas don't grab me either, but those modded ones do. I also think there's a difference when you grab one at full retail, and, when you grab one at a good price in the aftermarket (then send it back for a full refurb or mods, and it's still cheaper than full retail).

You sold your sebenza...omg...my God have mercy on your soul ...when you sold it were drugs or alcohol involved???

To each his own. ;) I will admit that I prefer my small Sebbie to the large version. Not that anything is wrong with the full-size Sebenza I just feel the small one is able to meet my needs just as well and does it in a smaller more convenient package. Maybe you should look into a small Sebbie one day. ;)

...You sold your 'Benza?...GOOD for you! I like Benchmades better myself. (And yes, I HAVE owned a Sebenza [large classic], and for the amount of money they cost, I wasn't all THAT impressed with it.).

Anthony - I already have an Obenauf. I used to have a Jeff Hall.

glockman99 - Yup! Soooo plain.............

I want a sebbie, havnt got one yet...too busy buying swords, but I say that if the blade doesnt connect with you or feel right using it then its best to sell it to someone who will use it.

I want a small sebbie classic for at work, love the look and I think it'd do me well...

I've handled them at several knife shows and admit to their fine quality but they just don't do it for me either. Buy what you enjoy, that is what this hobby is all about.

Watch out! You might regret it later. I know I did...

But, I fixed that recently:

Not so plain jane anymore! :D

i have a std model large seb, never really liked it, oh its ok, just have other stuff i like better, BUT my son loves it, he gets it in 14 months when he's 15, its been in the safe for about 2 yrs now, he would kill me if i sold it lol.

Like Anthony Cheesboro said, don't be surprised if you end up with another someday. I have bought or traded for several Sebbies over the years. Sometimes, I sell or trade a few away, only to sell or trade to get more. There's something about them, I just cannot explain it. Yes, the regular ones are kinda plain, but I keep on obtaining more of them. Currently, I have about a half dozen Sebbies; some large, some small. I don't know, they just keep calling to me. :)

I've sold both of my small Sebbies, and my Umfaan too. :(
The Sebbies were just too big for my uses. The Umfaan was too small.
The Mnandi is just right. :D I keep coming back to this size of knife.

Sweet looking knife Steven Roos. Who did the fizz effect? Pontiaker? PiterM? Looks good.
