SOLD
edit- I have been informed that this is a special knife in that the sawteeth have been split down the middle making it a rare bird! the work was not done by Timberline. I do not know who did this
cool mod but it was done very professionally IMHO! I am also told the knife has been nicely resharpened and is not a factory edge!
The original survival kit that would go in the handle is not included as it was not with the knife when I got it
I was informed that this knife was sent to Vaughn so he could look at it, hes actually custom making several split saw SAs because he was impressed with the look
7 1/2" double hollow ground fighter style blade, cord wrapped hollow handle, stainless steel guard and butt cap, double edge with serration's on the secondary edge that act as a "roughing" saw.
These serration's are capable of sawing through a 2 X 4 in 30 seconds and still be ideal for making tinder for a fire, 440C, bead blast finish.
The leather sheath has sharpening stone under a flap on the back.
The Hollow Handle Survival knife was awarded "American Made Design of the Year" by Blade Magazine in 1983.
