Andy,

Let me tell you, the HOG that scored the ASH is going to be one happy porker when it arrives!:thumbup:

So I hear....as long as it has not had purple polka dots added before it gets home it should be great.... ;)

My son got back from his 6th tour in Kuwait, Iraq and Afghanistan early this year. We expect him to be redeploying this next year for another tour in Afghanistan. I have always attempted to provide him with the finest and best personal self defense weapons, personal computers for running his fire missions and body armour for his combat tours. We sent him with a new laptop computer and a SOG Bowie knife to his first tour in kuwait because that knife was the best we could find for him to cut his way out of a downed gunship and defend himself during the avaision of the enemy. His Army laptop was down and looking at a year before repair. The survival knife provided by the DOD and Army was totally inadequate to knock out windshields and cut out of the bird should he go down and selfdefense thereafter. After a long and detailed search it appears to me that the Busse FFBM Battle Mistress is the best knife available to us today to send my son back to war with. Consequently I would like to purchase your knife for my son as this is the only one I can find for sale. I will pay you asking price and terms immediately upon your acceptance of this offer. Unless your friend LVMPDawg is on his way to Afghanistan this week, I am certain this knife would be more honorably used by service with my son CWO4 Mike Eddings, Top Apache Gun Ship Pilot in the World than any other way. Your special consideration in this matter would be greatly appreciated. I thank you in advance for your consideration. My direct email is michaeleddings@rocketmail.com or michaeleddings@eddingslaw.com Cordially yours, Mike Eddings Major USMC Ret.

MarinePilot7,
The funds for the BM went out yesterday, and although I'm not going to the sandbox, it will be proudly utilized here in the Desert Southwest.
Please thank your Son for his service, as my Son also serves in the Army, and I feel your pride. When my kid deployed last year, I sent him over there with an RMJ Shrike from this outfit: http://www.rmjtactical.com/ ... it's about the only thing as tough as a Busse, and may be just the ticket for extracting one's self from a tin can. Just a thought, if your search turns up goose eggs.
I wish your Son well, and may he return with God's speed.

MarinePilot7, First and foremost, I thank you and your son for your service!

The question of which Busse blade to take to the sandbox or which Busse blade to give to someone that is being deployed to the sandbox is a fairly frequent topic on the Busse forums. The Battle Mistress is a heavy chopper and generally considered "too much" in terms of length and weight. Smaller, yet quite substantial blades such as Satin Jack, Tank Buster, Hell Razor, BATAC, Desert Storm Fighter and the Boss Jack are models that are frequently suggested. All are "Busse-tough" and will stand up to the harshest of treatment.

Below are links to some relevant threads in the Busse forum. Your timing is perfect as there are an amazing array of Busse family blades available on the secondary market right now with the some of the best prices in memory.
