Greetings everyone! Here’s my new Tombstone Defender ready for action.
Ground from a 3/16”” x 2” Billet in 52100 with professional HT at 60/61. Hand sanded to 2000 grit for a highly reflective satin finish. The flats are left around 1200 grit and have some mill finish remnants for contrast. Finished dimensions are 14” overall, 8 ¾” tip to guard and 1 7/8” tall at the harpoon
Edge before sharpening was .010” or so and it is extremely sharp. Balance is at my mark and it weighs just under 12 oz. The deep swedge is also near sharp at .010” +\- down the full length. It could easily be sharpened on a stone.
The guard is made from 416 SS and brass with red n black thin fiber spacers. It's also finished to 2000 grit and buffed.
A beautiful red Padauk/Wenge frame handle is finished to 2000 grit with 3/32” stainless pins. There is a 1/32” +\- “step” at the lower handle/guard junction, the sort of thing that separates a master craftsman’s very expensive knife from a very nice one like this. I’ve tried to capture it in a closeup.
The handle feels great in my average size hand. Finished with multiple coats of Danish oil and carnauba wax. Sheath is lined with a fine felt like material and it’s a pretty snug fit with great retention even without the strap yet easy to deploy.
This is a very affordable beast of a knife at only <SOLD> to your door, and of course your satisfaction is my only priority. I can accept paypal, check or MO, and the price includes fees and free shipping in the US.
Thanks so much for looking and please feel free to ask anything here or via PM. I can email the full resolution photos as well.
