TOPS Overlander II and Grandpas Axe - Just like the title says. Both tools have been painted with white appliance epoxy and the scales dyed black...almost with Rit fabric dye. In retrospect I should not have stripped the coating prior to painting but, there you go. A little Rem-Oil keeps the rust at bay.

Both are 3/16" thick 1095 steel with micarta scales. I have owned the knife for about 12 years and probably split a face cord of wood with it. The spine is a bit mottled from whacking on it over the years but its a horse and in very good shape overall. Both have pretty good working edges on them but could be touched up. The Axe I've had for about a year. It's a fun tool. Splits wood pretty well for it's size. Can whack down a small tree with relative ease.

The paint is a bit beat up on the axe and to a lesser degree on the knife. But, white appliance paint is cheap and plentiful. The knife has a kydex sheath that is really good quality. The axe wears a slightly modified Estwing hatchet sheath. Its a better fit and look than the sloppy leather one that came from TOPS. I still have the original though. $old
